The Scot Beds His Wife by Kerrigan Byrne

4.0

Sam needs a new life. She just murdered her husband during a train robbery to save an innocent woman after watching him murder someone else on the train. Thankfully, Alison Ross has just the arrangement for Sam. She needs someone to go to Scotland in her place so that she can get married to the man she loves. The only thing Sam needs to do is keep the Ross land out of Mackenzie hands.
Gavin St. James may not be a Mackenzie by name, but he is by birth. After being attacked by his father as a child, and watching him attack Gavin's mother, he wants nothing to do with the Mackenzies, or his Mackenzie blood. He wants to take over the Ross land, because he wants something of his own to make money, as he is in the process of getting emancipated from the Mackenzie clan. What he doesn't expect is the tall, thin woman from America to know more about ranching cattle than he. She's making good use of the land, so he will have to win her heart to win her lands.
Though there are lies and deception woven into the romance, there are other things at play to keep the story interesting. Including a quickie wedding to hide the fact that Sam had gotten pregnant by her late husband before she shot him.
I continue to enjoy the series as a whole, and I am looking forward to more!
