Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One and Two by John Tiffany
2.0
I liked that we got another Harry Potter book, I hated all the inconsistencies from the previous books. I should explain that although I just said I liked that we got another one, I was very nervous going into it. I didn't think another Harry Potter story was necessary, and I was really afraid it was going to be bad. I wasn't entirely wrong, but I was expecting the worst and it only slightly beat those expectations. There were so many inconsistencies with the characters. Ron was a complete joke, which is really upsetting because he is one of the main three! The story line wasn't great, it felt sort of how expect fan fiction to read. There is no way J. K. Rowling wrote any part of this. It was completely lacking the research and care that went into the original Harry Potter books. I'm sure this screenplay was read by her and given her seal of approval, but it was not written by her. Like everyone else, I really liked Scorpius, and I was picturing the play as I read, and I think it would be really awesome see live. Some of the special effects must be really complicated and cool to see. But if I'm rating it as I would any book that was not a screenplay, It just wasn't very good.
