Gloam by Lily Mayne

5.0

Wow. This series continues to get better and better. I am obsessed with Gloam and Adam. Adam is so sweet, selfless, empathetic, helpful, kind... he truly is such a great person. Gloam is so smart, thoughtful, strong, protective, and loyal. I love these two and their journey was wild. I was full of anxiety from the start because I, like Adam, needed to save these monsters and all of them in Mary's menagerie. When things felt hopeless, I did panic for a minute,
Spoiler but Adam pulled through. We got the cage off and we broke the spell. I truly had no idea how this would work throughout almost the entire book. And thank god Mary was such an idiot. Also a cannibal cult? Wow. I mean this world keeps surprising me. Oh and then we get to see Ghost and Aury! AND the ending?!? Edin and Hunter are coming to visit! I can't wait to keep reading.

Here's the thing. I love these two. I think they're great together and I know Gloam will protect Adam for the rest of their (hopefully very long) lives. I love that he says
Spoiler he is now loyal to Adam forever, like the lion.
It's so sweet. And I love that Adam gave up everything to help a monster he barely knew just because it was the right thing to do. 3/5 spice levels.

Notes: age gap, monster/human, post-apocalyptic, rescue mission, hurt/comfort
