I’ve never been so glad to be reading a book about the US from my new European abode. I was disappointed to read an article that updated the information in this book (published in 2001). It seems little has changed on the corporate and government sides of this problem. The article’s silver-lining position is that more Americans are aware of the continuing problems, are making personal changes, and advocating for local changes.
