I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

5.0

A very engaging and wholly engrossing memoir that hit hard even though I didn't grow up watching Jennette's roles on tv. Make sure to read up on content and trigger warnings, especially if you have a diffiult relationship with food and eating! I loved how Jennette wrote the chapters on her childhood and early teens from the viewpoint of her younger self, it made it all the more gruesome to read about the abuse she was put through, because it emphasized how she understood it as love and completely normal. All respect to Jennette for writing this story and for being so brutally honest about it all! Everyone should read this.
