Les Liaisons Dangereuses by George Barbier, Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, Pierre Choderlos de Laclos
4.0
In which a couple members of the upper class are so bored one day that they decide to become nasty little sleazeballs and take advantage of the innocent! All the while talking trash about one another behind their backs and trying to get revenge on everyone. This leads to fate serving the biggest order of well deserved karma.
My dearest Valmont, my lovely friend, I grew so tired of reading not only your letters, but everyone else’s which is why I deducted a star. However, the tea you were serving was so dramatic, I was thoroughly intrigued and entertained, but you and your lot are disgusting. You know what you did. Choke~.
Okay but these characters were horrible people and it angered me but I can see that was the point, to leave me angered and uncomfy and also validated because they all got what they deserved. Justice for Cecile. I can’t believe I’m giving this four stars but I ammm! The format of constant letters was a bit draining, but I stuck with it! Adieu, adieu. I leave to powder my wig.
