Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
4.0
Type of read: Commuter Read.
What made me pick it up: Kuang wrote one of my favorite series 'The Poppy War' so 'Yellowface' was a no-brainer for my TBR.
Overall rating: Kuang is brilliant. 'Yellowface' was funny and absurd and witty and enjoyable. There were so many layers to the story and I appreciated the point of view and the quick wit of the characters. Juniper was a hate-to-love character for me and I think that is purely due to the wonderful way Kuang wrote them as both hero and villain. I would (and already have) recommend 'Yellowface' with zero hesitation.
