The stories are okay- meant for kids of course, so nothing too deep, but they are sweet, whimsical, old-fashioned.

But the illustrations are AMAZING. The detail in the seasonal wild plants, the cross-sections of houses built in trees, in boats, in sand dunes… I wish I had posters of all of them on my walls as a kid, I would have found something new each time I looked, and let my imagination cozily wander.
