Wonderful biographical collection of dramatic life stories from people who where either working for or against the East German communist regime. As well as heart moving stories of families that had their lives crushed for no other apparent political reason other than STASI's obsession with controlling and enlisting everything. Based the author's interviews around year 2000, interwoven with Funder's autobiographical account of her daily life in (then) newly reunited Germany.
