Hedge Lion by Robyn Wilson-Owen

5.0

With beautiful paper quality and gorgeous, delicate illustrations, Hedge Lion is a book that stands out, despite the title character's wishes.  A lion is afraid that his roar will scare others away, so he pretends to be a hedge.  After a perceptive child notices and befriends him, the lion learns to release bottled-up feelings and be himself.  The lesson is that unmasking and taking up space won't keep true friends away.
