Romanov by Nadine Brandes
4.0
This book is a very solid retelling of the Romanov Exile. If you’re looking for a book about history, you won’t find it here but it is one of those books that will peek your interest in it just enough so that you want to learn about the actual events.
You know how they tell you to never choose a book by its cover - well, I did. That plus I love Russian history. But I was not expecting the story that I read. It has a strong emphasis on family and it has quite a bit of magic in it. (I was expecting more and less than Was in the book). It can be devastating at times but ultimately it’s a good book that stands out from all the other retellings.
