These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
4.0
OMG how could you be so cruel Chloe Gong?!?! That ending was heartbreaking and fear-instoking! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??!?!?!?
This book was very interesting. I really enjoyed the setting of 1920's Shanghai and it was very well done! I loved the setting and the characters! The one thing I did not get much of was the Romeo and Juliette retelling sadly . . . they were supposed to be star-crossed lovers the whole book, but most of it, they were enemies. And what little romance we did get was enough to sate me and it didn't happen until the last quarter of the book.
Juliette obviously changes throughout the book - from a cold, unfeeling person, to someone who has to pretend she doesn't feel things to protect the ones she loves! Juliette is selfless and sly! Brilliant heroine! Her and Roma =
