Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

5.0

The end of the most impacting series of my life. Always a heart-breaker, always leaving me feeling empty...

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows may be my third favorite book in the entire series. Not only did I grow up with the series, the series grew up throughout the years. I get that's kind of to be expected especially as the character gets older and starts seeing the world differently, but there is just something about the way that JK Rowling does it. All of our unanswered questions get answered, there is more loss than I ever imagined, and better yet, a happy ending. I personally was very pleased with this book, all except for a few of the losses, the first time I read it and every time after that.

It's a known fact that JK Rowling still apologizes for Fred Weasley's death. It was totally unforgivable, like the Avada Kadavra curse that allegedly killed him. This death along with Dobby and Hedwig were the hardest for me. I almost started crying at work while listening to the Battle at Hogwarts. But fear not, I pulled it together. And don't get me wrong, Sirius and Dumbledore dying were both hard blows as well, but Hedwig was there from the beginning, and Dobby was just so devoted to Harry it was a hard blow.

This is a series I will fall in love with over and over again, and always feel a certain emptiness when it is over, no matter what number time it is reading them. If you have never picked up the Harry Potter series and are reading this review, I don't know why because it's a series that deserves to be read even once in a life time, and I just gave you major spoilers for 3 of the books. It is incredible how much this series has meant to so many people, and I am proud to call myself a Potterhead.
