Absolutely not what I expected. In fact, when I started reading it and it was clear that the content of the book wasn't really what I had hoped it to be, I wanted to stop reading and pick up another book. Luckily, I have never been able to stop reading a book, even if I dislike it. I read the final half today, in one go, because I just couldn't put it down. The afterword rounds it off for me perfectly, especially because it's not a perfect ending.
