Butch bartender Mel ends up in a poly relationship with married couple Bebe and Kade. We have an F/F/NB polycule and it was well-written, well-paced, super sweet and steamy. The audiobook narrator is amazing, and it’s so random but I loved the cocktail descriptions! It was lovely to see Mel believe in love again after a bad breakup, and believe enough in her mixology skills to enter a competition to try making her dream of opening her own bar come true.
The relationships were a little fast to develop and I wanted to spend more time with all three of them together. I wish the author had developed them as a polycule with a bit of focus on each relationship rather than two individual relationships that turn into a throuple. I hope I’m making sense! I also found that the talks surrounding class differences lacked a bit of depth. But apart from that, I loved it, It’s one of my favorite romances of the summer!
