ashley winstead's southern gothic tale MIDNIGHT IS THE DARKEST HOUR had me questioning who to trust and what to believe up until the very end.

this book is full of religious commentary and brings fundamentalist christianity and the occult together in a way i never would have expected. our MCs are in love with books and gain most of their knowledge through reading since their small-town beliefs are so censored and oppressive. twilight lovers, this book is for you!!

also, that ending tho.. not what i was expecting.

i enjoyed this book, but i didn't love it as much as i thought i would.
