I wasn't immediately drawn into this story like I was with Bardugo's Six of Crows duology - likely because I've never had an interest in the history of Yale or New Haven, CT. But once the story develops it's easy to get immersed in the magical world of Bardugo's Yale. Alex Stern is a fun protagonist to explore this new world with, and I'd definitely be interested to read any follow-up novels.
