Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon

5.0

I have been planning on rereading this series for so long but I own only one of them, so I decided to order the first book. Do you know the feeling of remembering that you really enjoyed a book but doubt that you will like it as much as you did few years ago? That's what happened with this book to me.  Ice Planet Barbarians got me into my obsession over alien romance but in the last year or so I haven't really enjoyed any of them-- so naturally I thought I had grown out of them but I absolutely loved this book.

I loved the relationship between Vektail and Georgie. Sure... they had some language problems and they were from different worlds, literally, but Vektail just wanted to take care of her and do everything he could to make her happy.

I was so exited for Finland mention! I can't even tell you how rare it is to have it in any book or TV show. I can only name one book besides this one that I've read this year that has a mention of Finland or Finnish character.

I find this Ice planet fascinating; it has two suns but it's freezingly cold for humans. I think Dixon kinda assumed that everyone has seen Star Wars movies but I haven't so I didn't really understand when Georgie and Liz compared it to the ice planet.

The only problems I had with it was rape and how Georgie and Vektail met. Georgie had just been kidnapped by green aliens but does he freak out when she sees Vektail-- nope.
