This was absolutely my favorite Abby Jimenez book. I connected with and understood both protagonists, and found so many moments throughout this book that made me stop and think. I feel like my own understanding of the world broadened as I read this book. Both the protagonists were broken (especially Emma) but also so likable. They worked hard to overcome their faults and cope with what they had. I really liked how the ending happened too, it felt both realistic and honoring the characters and where they were at in their personal growth. I couldn’t put this book down, I stayed up late multiple nights in a row to read this.
