I can totally understand why other people would love this but it was just OK for me. There was just something missing that prevented me from feeling immersed in the world and the characters even though I enjoyed the writing and the uniqueness. It could have totally just been the wrong time for me to read this as I am in sort of a fantasy slump too

I increased to 4 stars after thinking about it more. There isn’t much I can fault it on!
