Lullabies by Lang Leav

4.0

This was such a beautiful collection of poetry. I've read one other Lang Leav book before, and a few poems from this specific book as well, but I decided to read it front to back with my mom (we share the poems via text in the morning and discuss over coffee).

Lang's ability to beautifully capture the heartache of love is truly special. She so accurately portrays what it feels like to be rejected, to be left, to be told you're not enough. She is able to put into words those aching feelings of betrayal, the gut-wrenching feeling of losing someone you loved and knowing you'll never be able to forget them, and the wonderful, one-of-a-kind feeling of healing over time and coming to see that you're stronger on the other side.

This was a wonderful read and I highly recommend digesting it slowly, a little at a time, for the full effect.
