Only for Him by Cristin Harber

First of all, I love books about friends that fall in love with each other and from reading the blurb I expected something like this. Somehow I got that but not quite what I wanted ... it's a bit difficult to explain.
Emma and Grayson are friends and have been since they were kids - he's one of the guys girls dream of in high school but has a terrible past and Emma is the cute, "normal" girl but way out of his league, according to her. She's always had feelings for him and Emma was the only girl he really ever cared about.
It could have been something, really. I actually quite enjoyed the beginning and thought they were both extremely cute - it was clear right from the start that they both have feelings for each other but never really talked about it ... until Grayson just admitted it. From then on it was more than just friendship and I liked their scenes together and how sweet they were, it just seemed right and Grayson is obviously a good guy despite his horrible father and what had happened in the past. I just wanted them to be happy and have an amazing relationship and at first I thought I'd actually get that but as usual there has to be a little drama ... which I don't mind, of course!
It's just the ending that totally annoyed me and made me rate the book with less stars, I can't get over it, sorry. In the book Emma is the "innocent" and sweet girl, she's loving, caring and just nice, really, but in the end it's kind of like the complete opposite to her "innocent" image - it's not entirely bad, the end I mean, for example the cliffhanger was quite nice although I already expected something like this.
Overall it's a quick and easy read, something for in between because it's really short - I think it has 70 pages or so - and can be read in a few hours. I'm curious about the second book although not suuuper excited (does it make sense?), so I don't know, maybe it isn't as bad as I think it'll be now and everything will turn out well. I guess we'll see. ;)
