Anthropology by Dan Rhodes
3.5
101 tiny pieces of flash fiction, each 101 words long, that straddle the line between short story, poem, and punchline. It should feel like a gimmick but Rhodes is skilled enough that it doesn't. Some stories are more impactful than others, but as a collection it's a great series of observations about love and relationships, taken usually to extremes, sublime and surreal, and occasionally surprisingly moving.
