Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
5.0
This book always kills me in so many ways.
Even still, where I know what happens on every page i still have the very stupid hope that somehow the story changed from last time and all those horrible things don't keep happening over and over again with every reread.
Still I love this book, I love how the characters evolved from the children to the more adult but still kids version. I love hermione and her complete badassness in this book, I mean come on binding the contract with a spell that a ministry worker can't find a cure too? Brillant!
I also love that Rowling actually rally managed to create a character that everyone -including me- hates more Voldemort. That clearly takes skill!
I also really enjoy the way that Dumbledore deals with Harry after the ministry fight is over. How calm he is about it all and let's Harry just rage. I mean I know that that is not the way to actually deal with loss, but you know what after losing somewhere very dear to me? I had the moments where I would have loved to destroy an office! It's just so real and raw and honest and it always brakes my heart.
And while I really don't like Harry in Amy moments in this book, the whole angsty tee anger stuff is just never something that I understand or see the reason for, I mean always jumping down everyone's throat because your friends actually say what they think? Come on Harry! You should really finally get that at least hermione is never ever going to leave your side if you don't force her away yourself!
And LUNA!
I love her and her moments in this boo, from meeting her in the train to the last moment where she tells Harry about her mom and makes him realize that we never know if we are lucky enough to actually see all those people we love again.
This book is beautiful and heartbreaking and always so hard to revisit. Can't wait to do it again in the next reread!
Bittersweet reread that took forever for some reason over, and moving in to book six.
