It took me a moment to get into this, but man what a refreshing way of storytelling. I’m someone who needs a break, often, from cookie-cutter dramas/romances, where things are messy, loose ends abundant, and most of all not everything is perfectly wrapped up. Bardugo did a beautiful job of pulling you back to the time period and believing along with everyone else in the dangers of magic.
