I picked this book up when I was in the mood for an easy to fall into romance, and it definitely delivered! We follow Olive, a Ph.D candidate, and her love interest whom is know as the hard-arse professor. Note that there are no inappropriate age gaps here!

I’m a sucker for books which have an educational plot and/or setting; of which this book fits into both categories. I also enjoy enemies to lovers and whilst Dr. Carlson isn’t quite an enemy, he and Olive aren’t exactly friends. The pacing is deliciously perfect; leading us on but we also know where it’s all going to culminate. The question we have is just ‘how?’

The representative of intelligent women was also great to see. I don’t think I’ve read a book of fiction where I’ve seen a woman of my own age (well, close enough, I’m not in my late twenties until I’m 29 darn it haha) really pursue academic excellence. I see it in plenty of women IRL but it’s great to know that younger women and teens will be able to see their own potential goals represented.
