I would say it‘s not a classical fantasy/dystopian book. The romance is the actual main story, or that is how reading it feels like. There is no real world building except the least information you need to get the story going. It reads more like a maladaptive daydream of someone who read the hunger games. I think teenage me would have loved the book. It‘s cute in a lot of ways but it‘s a no from me as it’s too much catered for young adults and BookTok got the be of me where EVERYONE is hyping this book…
