Wow! Collision of Lies is the first book that I have read from Tom Threadgill but after such an introduction, it certainly will not be the last! I absolutely could not put it down! Right from the start I was captivated with this unique suspense story.

We start by learning about this horrifying tragedy- a school bus full of innocent children hit by an oncoming train. For three years the parents have been dealing with the aftermath of saying goodbye to their children... until a text message suggests that perhaps things aren't as they seem. When Detective Amara Alvarez starts looking into this closed case, more and more questions unfold. This isn't a suspense with a lot of high paced action scenes, but that didn't stop it from keeping me at the very edge of my seat. I had to keep turning the pages to discover what really happened. Were the children still alive? And if so, where were they and why were they taken? This is one that I had to force myself to put down so that I could get some much needed sleep!

Aside from the fantastic suspense story in this book, I really enjoyed the banter between Amara and her coworkers. Let's be honest, a story about a bus full of children being killed or kidnapped is a pretty heavy read... that banter helped break up that heaviness with humor, and really just made me really fall in love with these characters even more. I was happy to see in the sneak peek for the next book that we will get to see more from these characters because frankly, I wasn't ready to say goodbye just yet.

Overall, this was a fantastic read that suspense fans will most certainly want to add to their to read list. I cannot wait to read more!
