The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
4.0
Took a while to get into the story, mostly because of the disorienting introduction. While the book is sometimes unnecessary slow and repetitive (way too many chapters start with accounts of dreams/nightmares), I did like the overal story. The world building is excellent. I just feel that the story would have benefited from tighter editing to improve the overal pace. I'm glad most of the characters that are introduced early in the story stay important further down the road. That can't be said from some minor characters that are introduced with lots of detail, but quickly disappear again and never return. Looking forward to the rest of the story in the sequels.
