On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn
medium-paced
4.0
I really loved the start of this book, it had one of the best opening scenes I've read in along time and that instantly pulled me into the world of vampires, dragons and ruthless enemies all while taking place inside an academy.
The writing was so easy to understand as well as the beautiful and descriptive World building, I loved that it gives you a setting of old Vampire lore in the way it is portrayed and described as I haven't read anything like this in a while.
Medra is a really Fierce FMC and I loved seeing her stay true to who she is as she finds herself transported into this world of vicious vampires, the games for power they play while also becoming bound to ruthless vampire Blake as his betrothed consort. The pacing did slightly drag in the middle, though the story was so addicting and engaging and picked up pace really quickly towards the end. I'm looking forward to reading the next book especially with how good the ending to this one was!
