This was so cute!
When Daphne’s fiance Peter runs off with his childhood friend, the last thing she expects is to end up roommates with Petra’s ex, Miles. She only moved to Michigan to start her new life with Peter, and so she begins to plan her way out. Once the Read-A-Thon for the library she works at ends, she’s leaving Michigan and Peter behind for good.
But when the RSVP for the wedding arrives, Daphne can’t help but to tell Peter that she and Miles are going together- as boyfriend and girlfriend. There’s three months until the wedding, and three months until Daphne can leave. Over the summer she starts building attachments to her coworkers and her roommate, ones that are beginning to be a little too hard to sever….
I hated the third act breakup, but the way this book kept me laughing and giggling and kicking my feet I refuse to remove a star for that. Daphne is for those of us who live our lives in libraries with our noses in books, who are afraid to step out of our comfort zones. Also- I’m a sucker for small towns, what can I say?
