This was such a refreshing YA romantasy! Seeped in Mexican lore, it was intriguing and very atmospheric. I liked the setup of Lalo being a newly turned vampire that retains his humanity (for now) and Carolina being a headstrong huntress that is underestimated by her family at every turn. It included some standard YA quirks that drive me a little bonkers and the ending was a little too convenient, but I still really enjoyed this. Would definitely read more from this author in the future!

Also, this is my first book of 2025 and I already know it’s going to be one of my favorite covers of the year. It’s stunning.
