The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell

5.0

I don't think I've ever read anything so suspenseful! The writing in this short story was so incredibly evocative, and despite being so short, I feel like we get to know our two leads quite well! Zaroff, despite seeming like a madman, is charming and thoroughly likable, and Rainsford is so clever and collected, which makes total sense for a character of his background! The imagery is the best part of this book, though. I've never felt so like I was in the story before rather than just observing! The writing is so absorbing!
