Russell, a construction worker, fell in love with Abby the instant he saw her, but she is too good for him and comes from a wealthy family. He remains where he believes he belongs—in the friend zone—until the two of them cross the boundary one evening. Abby is desperate to make Russell lose control, and Russell finds it difficult to maintain her at a safe distance.

The fact that Abby and Russell's connection develops over the course of the first two volumes makes their reunion less sudden, which I adore. Of the three couples, they are by far the healthiest. However, they will have to deal with his fears for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, there was a lot of miscommunication in this book, which I don't like.
