Beth and Addy were inseparable and invincible. Dangerous and toxic, charming and sophisticated. Captain and lieutenant of the cheer squad, powerful and beautiful. When the new cheer coach comes, their power is tested and they realise she isn't as intimated by them as the old coach. A power struggle erupts between Beth and the new coach which turns dangerous and deadly.

I've heard so much about Dare Me which seemed to have set off something on tumblr with the quote 'there's something dangerous about the boredom of teenage girls.' I had expected so much but what I got was so different but so much better than I thought.

There was something about the writing style that was a bit hard to get into at first. But then later on in the story, it gave it a sense of realism to the story. It was raw and toxic and bitter and I loved every bit of it.

I loved the fact that 90% of the characters were girls and I loved their dynamics with each other. There were friendships and rivalries and love and hate. Friendships were sometimes just as toxic and the bad relationships and there were lies and despite that there was something really honest about the novel and its writing and its story.

I loved the mystery. It kept me engaged right from the start and there were so many twists and turns and surprises and no matter how much I guessed I was always wrong. It was dark and raw and I really loved it - it was just my type of book.

Overall, a fantastic read which may not be for everyone but I'd recommend everyone give it a go.
