Reread April 2017:

This book was just as fantastic this sind time around as the first!

I noticed and rediscovered so many things and noticed so many little details and connections that I missed the first time!

Beautiful book, wondeful writing, so worth a reread!

Everything else stands as I said it in the first review so no need to repeat it in the same posting twice!

can't wait to start the second book as soon as possible!

First read review - June 2016:

Okay so reading this right before wanting to go to sleep? Not the smartest idea I ever had! For one i had to read the entire thing in one sitting, which is just stupid if you start a book at eleven at night and have to get up early in the morning!

This book is so hunting and beautiful and in a way scary.

There are so many questions being raised and not answered, so many mysteries mentioned but not solved and it is all Wraped in this strangely scientific and science fiction vibe were you -as the reader- be believer that yes, there is more out there in the universe and maybe there is even something in this earth with us that humanity did not create but something -someone- else out there left behind. Or you can see this entire book as a completely out there science fiction story that tells a very compelling and strange story Ina very unique and different way.

It's fantastic how Neuvel managed to write so many feelings into diary entries and interview sections where we don't even know the name of the interviewer. But he managed to really bring across the angst, the fear, the enthusiasm, the compelling curiosity of the characters we follow along.

The ending was such a surprise and a perfect introduction to the second book that I can't wait to get my hands on!

This entire ebook and its story sucked me in from the first until the last sentence and kept me guessing and astound through the entire thing!

This story was strange.
And beautiful.
And hunting.
And thought provoking.
And so uniquely different that I can't even think of anything remotely similar.
It makes you feel as if you are tiny, part of something bigger but at the same time not really important int eh overall spectrum of things. And at the same time it is great reminder of what fiction can be and bring to your live.

This book was magnificent.
Different and strange and wonderful.

And I would completely recommend it, if you don't shy always from a different reading experience, have an open mind and a willingness to let you surely be carried away to somewhere else with the story.

This book is as unique and swoon worth as its covers! Go read it!
