Billionaire Unknown: Blake by J.S. Scott
4.0
Blake and Harper had an encounter neither could forget or let go of ten years ago. Except she thought he was his twin brother Marcus, and by the time other events occurred to shatter her blissful happiness about their encounter, it was too late for Blake to be able to correct the mistaken identity, and he was convinced that he blew his only chance. Fast forward to Harper needing help from Marcus to rescue her sister from terrorists in Syria. Since she doesn’t seem to feel any more sparks between them when they meet again, Harper is convinced she is over it and can finally move on, but then the sparks fly when she spends time with Blake, and suddenly she doesn’t know what to do. When the truth finally comes out, they have a chance to reignite what was between them, but has it been too long?
This was a very sweet second chance romance, without really feeling like one. The reasons they missed their chance at the beginning happened so quickly, they didn’t really get a chance to explore their feelings for each other, and for years, she didn’t even know the truth of the encounter. They both changed a lot over the years, but when they reconnect, the spark is still there. It’s passionate and steamy, as well as touching and sweet as they find each other again. I’ll admit it’s a bit of a trope, the mistaking one twin for the other, but it’s not an unrealistic one. It works here, and adds a fun level of interaction between the brothers as well.
