One Day and One Amazing Morning on Orange Street by Joanne Rocklin

4.0

I thought this was a really lovely story, atmospheric in a simple way. But I didn't feel like I knew any of the child characters that well. If anything, the older neighbor lady was the one with the most depth - the kids just weren't given enough time to become fully-fleshed out. Overall, I thought it was lovely book, just not memorable enough to make it on my Mock Newbery list.
