An utterly unqualified "do not pass go" recommendation. I read a previous Fredrik Backman book (Anxious People) a couple of years ago, and I don't know why I didn't just go out and buy his complete works there and then. I shall, following this review, do just that.
This was _wonderful_. Unbearably moving indeed.
Laughing, bawling, often on the same page. It's unexpected and charming, curmudgeonly, tender and life affirming. Love, loss and second chances.
Pick this one up in a heartbeat.
