It was a good book but a VERY slow start. I normally finish books within 2-4 days, but this took me a whole week and a half because I found Chapter 1-8 to be a drag, however it did pick up my interest Chapter 8-13 and I LOVE IT. I was on waitlist for this book for about 10 weeks before I could finally read it because that is how popular it is at the moment.
The author did a great job at capturing the British attitude towards Americans. Being an American in the UK I found it so annoying and ignorant that Brits make it their personality to hate Americans, French etc, which is what the British characters in this book did from start to finish.
The fear of fungi and turning it into a horror story was an interesting take, and I’m now reading Poe’s original and planning on reading “The Fall” (another take on The House Usher).
I normally don’t read the author’s note but this one was insightful and made me want to read more works from her.
LOVED the crazy undead rabbits 🐇

Overall, great book and give it time when reading cause the undead action will start to pick up pace.
