Don't Speak by Michelle Lancaster, Michelle Morgan, Dyan Layne
5.0
I must first make a point to say that the number of books I’ve read, not told in first person pov, is almost nonexistent. I have always struggled with connecting with books/characters when told from another pov. However, I went into this with an open mind. & I am pleased to say that I not only finished, but loved it.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. And I was very intrigued with all the bits and pieces thrown into this plot. And I truly think that going in blind is the best step.
I love the stepbrother trope, so I was very excited to read about Aidan and Molly. & they were everything I’d hoped for and more. From beginning to end, Aidan and Molly share such a heartwarming bond. I was an absolute goner for Aidan the entire time, even through his teenage/young adult years. The fact that he doesn’t speak made this plot even more special. I was heartbroken for Aidan, the poor little boy. But I was also so invested in the instant connection that he and Molly shared. She was Aidan’s rock, his everything. And vice versa.
This book goes through different stages of Molly and Aidan’s lives. From the time they meet, to everything in between, and yes, a HEA. I didn’t always love their journey, but I knew in time, the frustrating parts would be worth it. & they were. I absolutely loved these two, as well as the secondary characters. This plot was unpredictable, which I love. There are sensitive subjects discussed, but they’re written so well. But there are also many sweet, special, and no doubt spicy moments too. I was so happy with how this book ended. The perfect closure for these beautiful characters. I would definitely recommend reading Aidan and Molly’s story
