Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
5.0
I can't think.
Because wow.
This book is too good. Let me try to assemble my thoughts....
Eliza was cute and very much relatable. Being an enthusiastic artist and introvert I was easily able to put myself in her shoes. I loved Wallace's sweet and gentle character and the deviations we saw from that. But most of all I think I loved how he was flawed. At first I was angry how he behaved after the big reveal but that is so human. He was hurt and angry and he made mistakes. And then he turned over his whole world to correct that.
I swear this author is a magician. I was absolutely convinced by the fact that Eliza's parents didn't really get what she was doing(I have a lot of experience in that field, trust me) and she had a love hate relationship with them. But at the same time I agree with the parents that Eliza should do other stuff just a little more.
I'M BEING POSSESSED YOU ALL
Eliza's brothers were also very supportive in the end and I loved their character development! I loved how there was an emphasis on internet friends because those are the only friends some of us have.
And the true fears, aspirations and life of a teenage creator were portrayed so well I'm legit sobbing.
Yeah so basically this book is too good for words ♡
