The Optimist's Daughter by Eudora Welty

2.0

This book seemed rather low-key to me. While it was well written, it didn't grab my imagination as I thought it would. Discussing this with both friends and my 90 year old grandmother, we came to the conclusion that it was a product of it's time - which was 40 years before now. I found that perspective interesting. It was a window into possible reactions to death, dying, and women back in 1969.
