3.0
3.5/5 Stars: ‘The Bane Chronicles’ by Cassandra Clare.
→ Age Range: Young Adult.
→ Genre: LGBT+, Urban Fantasy.
→ Trigger Warnings: Homophobia, Kidnapping, Murder.
In-depth Rating:
→ Plot: ★★★
→ Character Development: ★★★★★
→ Setting: ★★★
→ Entertainment Level: ★★★★
→ Writing: ★★★
General Comments: Standing alone, the early stories are mostly dissatisfying. As a whole, the collection shows the compelling development of our protagonist. It features tales that break off without resolution, satisfying mostly as emotional background. The prose is slightly choppy, but evocative and emotional, with a grandiloquent style. It tackles timely key issues such as the AIDS crisis exceptionally well.
Favourite Quote: ‘Magnus, you were trying to flirt with your own plate.’
Time Read: Four Days.
→ Audiobook: No.
→ Audiobook Narrator: -
