I really needed to laugh and this book delivered. Irby is very good at turning personal and often painful experiences into comedy. Nothing is sacred nor too private for her to divulge. Her curmudgeony attitude and constant self-deprecation may turn some people off, but I'm always here for it. I've now listened to all of Irby's books in audio form and I recommend you do the same - listening to her narrate her own life in such a withering, sarcastic tone only enhances the experience.
