I love Jemisin’s work so much. Is there anything she CAN’T do?

Anyway, it was cool to see the short stories that became bigger ideas and novels of hers. I’m going to be thinking about this one short story. It was middle-school-English-teacher-assignment levels of fucked up and I loved it so much.

Some of the other short stories FELT like initiates for longer storylines, with too much worldbuilding for too little pay off. The story would get a little lost in the weeds amidst all the background stuff. But those were few and far between. Overall, this was an amazing collection of short sci-fi/fantasy stories!
