The Only One Left by Riley Sager
3.0
Hmmm okay so this is my first Sager thriller. It started out promising as it has that classic gothic mystery vibe going on. However it sort of lost its appeal in the middle. It just seemed to meander along for a while. Then the end comes with all the big reveals and twists and honestly it was all too much. It was like every twist, turn, and surprise was thrown in to see just how ridiculous the story could be.
My biggest issue… I figured out a few things during the book only to then essentially be told nope wrong!! Okay fine that happens… keep reading and then it’s like wait, actually you were right?!?? The whole thing just became unreliable and annoying.
I enjoyed it until I didn’t *shrug*. The narrators on the audiobook were really really good and probably the reason I enjoyed it as much as I did.
