Fake It 'Til You Break It by Meagan Brandy

5.0

Nico absolutely stole my heart in this book!!!! I never viewed him as the "bad guy", maybe just the misunderstood and stereotyped jock but he was actually quite pleasant. Sure he came off a bit crass and obviously had some walls up, but he was never vindictive or mean like some alpha males in this type of read. I actually found that those qualities solidified a fondness for his character no matter what mistakes he ended up making as the book progressed.

Demi was such a strong force with an incredible level of confidence and self respect. Despite her tumultuous relationship with her parents, she was a kind and compassionate human being with her goals set high.

I loved the "fake" relationship aspect of this story. It worked so well for these two characters, even when it didn't. The development of actual feelings and chemistry really elevated the strength of these two as a couple. I completely understood why they entered into this type of agreement but it became clear very quickly that the end game was not going to be the same for Nico and Demi.

All the heart eyes and swoons. I gave this book 5 stars because not only was the story fast paced and un-put-downable but it also had some heavy emotional content with real life problems that a reader could relate to. The drama within this story wasn't unrealistically inflated to shock the reader or just thrown in willy-nilly. It was well thought out by the author and flowed impeccably with the story. Every detail was important and every emotion was felt so deeply. I was rooting for this couple from the get go!

Loved, loved, loved the ending. The way the story wrapped up gave me an overwhelming feeling of bliss and fulfillment. There's nothing more satisfying than closing a book with a smile on your face because it ended just the way you hoped it would. Well done, Meagan. Another incredible novel!!!
