Displeasure Island by Alice Bell
4.0
I wish we had gotten more of Claire's emotional journey resolved in this book, but I am glad that we got it at all! I do love watching someone learn how to be a person. That and the exploration of how scarring it would be to have dealt with murder so up-close, and the ways it would leave you scared and paranoid. Loved the continued relationship work as well! And just as with the last one, the sense of humor was impeccable. Alice Bell takes firm second place next to Richard Osman as my favorite mystery authors.
