How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi

5.0

It's not enough to be "not racist." One has to be antiracist. Kendi does an excellent job introducing readers to different concepts of racism, how to be antiracist, and that anyone can be racist (not just white people) because racism is placing races in a hierarchy and POC's can help to maintain that heirarchy. Kendi also notes that racism often intersects with other issues like gender, classes, and sexualities. One cannot fight racism without also addressing capitalism, homophobia/transphobia, and other causes of inequalities.

This book is a call to action to create equity and fight racist policies as much as it is an educational tool for how to be an Antiracist.
